Each year Music at Vina Danks Middle School selects students from all performing groups in the 7th-8th grades to be part of the famous “JAZZ CATS.” In its 19th year, the music program envisions that students have the opportunity to explore the historic content of American music, through popular standards that lead to the development of Jazz. Each student is provided with study in instrumental performance, private lessons, and an opportunity to perform for live audiences. Since its initiation the jazz program has been recognized throughout the district as being an essential element for student advancement and superior performances.
